Facilities offered by KVK, Jorhat
The following facilities are available at KVK, Jorhat :
Rural Knowledge Centre (RKC): Rural Knowledge Centre is an ICT based information centre for the benefit of the farming community and was established at KVK, Jorhat with the financial aid from NABARD. The centre caters for all kinds of agricultural information through web based service. Information is made available in dual language (Vernacular and English) making the programme accessible to all categories of farmers. Production technologies of various crops, weather forecast, information about different schemes of state and central government are some of the facilities that can be accessed by farmers. Students and rural youths are regularly trained at this centre for skill development on use web based information.
KIOSK: The net based agricultural information kiosk established at KVK Jorhat is utilized by farmers for quick retrieval of all kinds of agricultural information including package of practices of different crops, weather information, agril. market information, information on diseases and pests and their control measures etc. Information retrieval in vernacular language makes the tool user friendly.
Soil Testing Facility: Although KVK, Jorhat do not have a soil testing laboratory, Mridaparikshak, a minilab with facilities for testing major and micronutrients has been provided during February, 2016.
Bio-pesticide Production Unit:Laboratory developed under DBT Project.
Short Term and Long Term/ Vocational Training:Facilities for conducting hands on trainings on agriculture and allied fields with boarding facility for 25 trainees.
